Our Immigrant of the Day is Alan, born in Mexico and whose mother brought him without immigration papers to the United States 19 years ago when he was a young boy. A superstar high school student in suburban Los Angeles, Alan, ineligible for federally-subsidized loans and grants, received a scholarship from Harvard and graduated in June.
