The Times reports that the White House has quietly stopped deporting students that appear eligible for the DREAM Act should that bill pass. That's in contrast to the increase in deportations we've seen overall, particularly of criminals. [Hat tip to Adi for posting in the comments].

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says that he's not aware of anyone who wants to alter the 14th Amendment (uh, did you just wake up from a coma and miss the last two weeks?). This is not really a surprise and it's not because American doctors are in any way inadequate. However, while virtually all US medical school graduates will eventually go on to practice medicine, residency and fellowship slots that go to J-1 and H-1B doctors are filled by doctors who generally finish near the top of their medical school classes.
