Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) has reported that in the first two years of Obama's presidency felony immigration prosecutions have skyrocketed, yet prosecutions for weapons offenses have dropped.
The following chart was published by TRAC and shows the monthly trends in immigration convictions since Obama's election:
The tragic irony is that during this same period TRAC reports that weapons prosecutions decreased to 7,614 in 2010, down from 8,188 in 2009. This is a steady decrease from the numbers seen when Bush was in office: 8,484 in 2008 and 8,919 in 2007.
So much for going after the real criminals.
