Stuart Anderson at the National Foundation for American Policy makes the case against the Smith E-Verify bill. Some in the business community are backing the bill as the lesser evil compared to having different laws across the country and the possibility of an even worse bill passing that doesn't address various business concerns. A tough call whether its more of a gamble to back Smith's bill or oppose it. But everyone in the pro-immigration community would agree that unless we get a guest worker program and deal with the illegally present population already here, an E-Verify only bill is not going to do much to solve our immigration mess.
