I don't plug books very often, but I do think readers will enjoy the new book Green Card Stories which was produced by my friends Steve Yale-Loehr and Laura Danielson. Steve, by the way, has co-authored the J-1 Visa Guidebook with me and Bill Stock annually since 1997.
As the name suggests, the coffee table book profiles immigrants. 50 stories of people from countries around the world who have settled across the US are told in a way that shows the dramatic variations in people's backgrounds, but also the common features in their immigrant experiences.
The book can be purchased in bookstores, on book store web sites and directly from the publisher. Just go to http://www.greencardstories.com. Well worth the purchase and proceeds help the American Immigration Council which fights for a more just immigration system.
