Executive Office for Immigration Review Installs "Phone Tree" to Improve Customer Service

Falls Church, VA -- An interactive voice response system, commonly known as a "phone tree," was activated at the Office of the Chief Clerk, Board of Immigration Appeals (Board), Executive Office for Immigration Review, on Friday, December 15. The 24-hour-per day, 7-day-per-week, phone tree was installed in response to the continuous increase in requests for case processing information and the need to provide accurate information to callers.

The phone tree provides basic case information through an easy touch-tone menu. The phone tree enables the Clerk's Office staff to improve customer service by providing callers with a quicker response for case information. By dialing (703) 605-1007, callers are able to choose one of five menu options, have the information repeated, and return to the main menu or speak to a representative. The five menu options are:

For information about the Board's mailing address, location, and Web site information - press 1
For appeals and motions - press 2
For transcripts and briefs - press 3
For Board decisions and stays of deportation - press 4
For change of address - press 5

For additional information, questions, or comments, please contact Marcia Cato, Deputy Chief Clerk, at (703) 605-1007.
