As for "Faithful Reader's" hardship, apparently her husband was not concerned enough with his family's welfare that he could manage to refrain from drinking and driving. And if he's not concerned with them, it's a sure bet he's not concerned with the harm he might do the rest of us. If anyone's to blame for her situation, it's her husband, not immigration laws.
