Dear Editor:
I am shocked at how Secretary Ridge can be in charge of controlling our immigration system and then declare that those who have slipped through the cracks illegally deserve amnesty. I usually do not agree with Rep. Tancredo as he would just shut the door on immigration altogether; however, I do agree that if Secretary Ridge is not able to enforce the immigration laws he was hired to do then he should resign. How can he look into the eyes of any of the surviving family members of 9/11 and tell them that terrorists who also were in the US illegally would also deserve such a break. Sometimes our leaders leave me disheartened and ashamed.
