H-1B Update
USCIS announced that it has received 45,900 H-1B petitions that will count against the Congressionally-mandated cap for fiscal year 2005 (October 1, 2004 - September 30, 2005). The limit in fiscal year 2005 is 65,000. For the rest of the USCIS H-1B cap announcement, see here. Given that approximately 70% of the FY 2005 H-1B numbers have already been reached, it is prudent to consult your immigration attorney if you want an H-1B visa before the cap is reached.

Dear Editor:
How can a poor Immigrant ever get his rights represented when he cannot afford a lawyer? It seems to me the lawyers whom I always meet always want exorbitant prices. I feel they kinda know you are in a situation. I feel blackmailed and vulnerable. Is there any lawyer that might help and get paid in portions?

Dear Editor:
Does a public school system high school have to be part of SEVIS to offer a foreign student an I-20? I don't know anymore and can't find what the new I-20 application is supposed to look like.

Dear Editor:
I have a subscription to Immigrant's Weekly and per the recent comments would like to unsubscribe and subscribe to Immigration Daily. How is this done and does it require that I pay for anything?

Editor's Note: The most common issue in such a situation is that your web browser's java capabilities are not properly configured. This may be particularly true if you are using a very old version of your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, etc.). A free Java download may be all that you need to fix the problem. Alternatively, you can post your question to: Ask a Lawyer which is also free; and/or try our discussion board. In your particular case, we have attempted to correspond but your Yahoo! email address keeps bouncing.
