< Go back to Immigration Daily U.S. Department of State Office of the Spokesman Press Statement Notice to the Press September 12, 2000 U.S. Department of State to Host the XXVIII Meeting of the U.S.-Mexico Binational Group on Bridges and Border Crossings Delegates from the United States and Mexican Governments and the border states will participate in the XXVIII Meeting of the U.S.-Mexico Binational Group on Bridges and Border Crossings. The purpose of these semi-annual meetings is to discuss proposed bridges and border crossings and their related infrastructure, to review operations of existing cross-border transportation infrastructure, and to exchange views on policy and technical information. The Department of State will host the meeting at the Ramada Valley Ho Resort and Conference Center in Scottsdale, Arizona September 18-21, 2000. U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Jeffrey Davidow will chair the U.S. delegation; Ambassador Juan Rebolledo, Under Secretary of Foreign Relations for North America and Europe, will chair the Mexican delegation. Arizona Governor Jane Dee Hull and Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross will also participate in the opening plenary.
