Which Way Home
As the US continues to build a wall between itself and Mexico, "Which Way Home" shows the personal side of immigration through the
eyes of children who face harrowing dangers with enormous courage and resourcefulness as they endeavor to make it to the US. The HBO documentary follows several unaccompanied child migrants as they journey through Mexico en route to the U.S. on a freight train called "The Beast." The film premieres on Monday, August 24, 2009. For more information, see here.

Dear Editor:
Regarding the Letters (8/21/09 ID), the race neutral, reasoned, America
first letter of D. Murray stands out in stark contrast to the myopic,
race baiting, America last letters of R. Algase and E.S.F., both of
which pull out the abused and tired race card along with typical
inflammatory and false labels. Open border apologists squeal like the
porkers they are when the public demands tighter controls and limits to
entry. The letters would have a reason to squeal if we sentenced border
crossers to 12 years in prison as North Korea does or fired heavy rounds
at Muslim laden boats as Italy does. Apparently, it is not enough that
we have more migrants that the rest of the world combined and educate,
medicate and tolerate excessive numbers of illegals many of whom return
the favors by running drugs, bringing more illegals, stealing
identities, falsifying paperwork, filling our welfare programs, crowding
our space and highways, consume scarce resources meant for citizens, and
killing and maiming others. The comments of DMM could not be more
correct ( 8/20/09 ID) not only in the letters cautionary conclusions but
in the need for "drastic and effective brakes" upon past and present lax
entry policies which would preclude any form of amnesty to law breakers.
It is absurd and irresponsible to advocate that our entry policies
should be more efficient and convenient in order that non-citizens can
migrate without limits or beyond acceptable ones as determined by US
citizens, not special or ethnic interests.
