Instructions to Hold Mandatory Consular Training for WWTVPRA Before June 15

TO ALL DIPLOMATIC AND CONSULAR POSTS

1. Before June 15, 2009, all consular section chiefs must conduct a training session for their sections on the implementation of the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act (Public Law 110-457), and the associated 9 FAM changes. Use STATE 056534, WILLIAM WILBERFORCE TRAFFICKING VICTIMS PROTECTION REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2008, PUBLIC LAW 110-457, and STATE 056532, 9 FAM CHANGES TO REFLECT THE WILLIAM WILBERFORCE TRAFFICKING VICTIMS PROTECTION REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2008, PUBLIC LAW 110-457, as the basis for this round of training.

2.  This session is in addition to the Consular training requirement outlined in paragraph 11 of STATE 056534. That training session must be conducted after posts receive the informational pamphlet.  The Department will advise posts when the pamphlet is available.
