18-Month Designation of Syria for Temporary Protected Status

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today announced  that she will be designating Syria for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for a period of 18 months.
Next week, USCIS will post a Federal Register notice designating Syria for TPS and providing additional guidance on:

• How to register for TPS;
• Who is eligible to apply for TPS; and
• When to begin filing TPS applications.

NOTE: The registration period has not yet opened!
Please continue to visit www.uscis.gov/tps or call 1-800-375-5283 to obtain the latest information about filing for TPS and to learn more about the TPS application process.
