May we file the original visa petition based upon passing the CGFNS exam alone? Or in conjunction with IELTS passage? Answer by Donna Richardson: You have an option of taking either IELTS or the ETS series of tests. The nurse must have completed either of those in addition to holding the CGFNS exam certificate. The TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS can be taken for the CGFNS certification exam. It certainly makes it more practical to take the series which will allow them to use results for both. Answer by Sylvia Boecker: The nurse can take either all of IELTS or TOEFL to meet the requirements for the CGFNS certificate. The VisaScreen certificate requires either all of IELTS or all three parts of TOEFL/TWE and TSE. No, the CGFNS exam alone is not enough to file the I-140. The CGFNS certificate is required. And the certificate requires either TOEFL or IELTS. Follow @ilwcom Share this page | Bookmark this page The leading immigration law publisher - over 50000 pages of free information!
