Dear Weekly Editor:
I would like to nominate Juan Manual Alverez as the "Immigrant of the Week." Today is the third anniversary of the day that Juan Manual Alverez drove his SUV onto the tracks at Chevy Chase Drive in Glendale, California, He then parked it on the tracks, doused it with gasoline and waited. As the Metro Link train approached he jumped out. Eleven people were killed and 180 wounded. Another job done by someone who as George Bush says, "does jobs that Americans won't do." Hard to get American citizens to that job. The Los Angeles Superior Court has scheduled the criminal trial of Alverez for March 24. I nominate as a second choice for the Immigrant of the Week award, Rosendo Corona Rosales. Rosales will be deported to Mexico for his hit-and-run killing of jogger Kimberly McDaniel. Rosales was sentenced Wednesday to 5 years in jail and then deportation. Congressman Steve King, (R-Iowa), estimates that on average 12 people are killed each day in America by a drunk driving illegal alien. Over 4000 a year.
