Tsunami Relief And TPS Extension For El Salvadoran Nationals

The Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced that the US has temporarily stopped deporting people to Sri Lanka and Maldives, two of the countries devastated by the tsunami disaster. Citizens of those countries with deportation orders will be allowed to stay in the U.S. until April 7. For details, see here.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced an 18-month extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for nationals of El Salvador until September 9, 2006. For the press release, see here. For the Q&A, see here.
