Dear Editor:
Right here in Freehold, NJ, the 2nd Baptist Church's generous offer to host a temporary, though improved illegal hiring hall in the Borough is being rebuffed by radical groups fighting to keep the old one open. The same one that continues to protect the greed and anonimity of its patrons so that taxes are not collected or paid. The ungrateful illegals, themselves, state recently in the Asbury Park Press newspaper that the church's illegal hiring hall hours of operation are not long enough to suit them. Do beggars have the right to be choosers? Isn't it bad enough when illegals think they have any American rights to begin with?
The lawsuit filed in Trenton (against the town's decision to close its Muster Zone at midnight), yesterday, has national implications. It will test our democracy and prove America to be a country of patriots or a nation of idiots. If any lawsuit that protects lawbreakers and fringe groups that attempt to disenfranchise taxpayers is upheld, our nation is in much worse shape than any of us ever believed. If our nation sells out to special interest groups supported by labor unions and corporate America and allows these people to invade our towns and homes minimizing our quality of life concerns in the name of the almighty dollar, we must all take a firm stand and fight back with gusto. I am sorry to say that if we lose this war, we lose the best of what we value in America.
