This event will be beneficial to anyone involved in EB-5. The event day will bring together experts and practitioners on all sides of the EB-5 equation. After each panel, guests will have the opportunity to discuss EB-5 issues among themselves and with speakers. This is a CLE workshop, however it is designed to be materially useful to Regional Center executives and real estate developers also, in addition to immigration attorneys.

                            ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

                            Robert Gaffney received his J.D. degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1980. Mr. Gaffney is an attorney licensed to practice in the State of California and is certified by the California State Bar Association as a Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law. Through his law firm in San Francisco, Mr. Gaffney has 30 years of experience counseling a wide range of corporate and individual clients in areas of employment-related, investment, and family-based visa and immigration matters. Mr. Gaffney is rated "AV," the highest such rating for skill and integrity available to individual lawyers from Martindale-Hubbell, generally recognized within the U.S. legal profession as the most complete and trusted source for identifying qualified legal counsel. Mr. Gaffney is honored to have been selected through peer review for the list of Super Lawyers of Northern California, awarded to only 5% of practicing attorneys in the area. Mr. Gaffney, who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, received his B.A. degree in Chinese Studies with highest honors from the University of California in 1973. He attended the University of Michigan, Center for Chinese Studies as a National Defense Foreign Language Fellow between 1973 and 1976. He is a long-time member of the Association of Asian Studies, a member of the San Francisco-Shanghai Sister City Committee, and a regular speaker to professional and business groups on the topics of the U.S. legal system, business practices, and immigration through investment. Mr. Gaffney has developed significant expertise and a strong practice focus representing alien entrepreneurs under the EB-5 visa program. He is the author of “Country-Specific Issues and Challenges in Representing EB-5 Petitioners from the People’s Republic of China,” published in Immigration Options for Investors & Entrepreneurs (1st & 2nd Eds.), a leading source of information on this rapidly evolving topic.

                            Peyman Attari is the co-founder, president, & CEO of AISA. A seasoned investment professional, Mr. Attari's 30-year career spans multiple financial asset classes from international equities to fixed income to real estate. Before starting AISA, he was a commercial real estate investor in the mid-west through his company Ambrose Property Holdings. Prior to moving to Kentucky, Mr. Attari spent a total of 9 years at Deutsche Bank, in the emerging markets division. Initially he was based in New York and then in London where he was the head of Europe, Middle East, Africa equity research, leading a previously unranked team to a global top 3 ranking. Mr. Attari has also held senior positions at Jesup and Lamont International / Euro Suisse Securities in London and was the co-founder and Managing Director of Saicor Securities in New York, a boutique investment bank specializing in Southern African investments. Born in Iran, raised in the United Kingdom, he received a BSc Honors degree from Imperial College London, and is an Associate of the Royal School of Mines. Mr. Attari is a FINRA registered representative.

                            Robert Blanco graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. While majoring in Finance and Operations Information Management, Mr. Blanco spent his junior year abroad studying at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School with a concentration in Corporate Law. During law school, Mr. Blanco served as an extern for the Honorable Carl J. West, Chief Judge of the Complex Civil Litigation Panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Mr. Blanco specializes in business and employment immigration cases. He has prepared both immigrant and non-immigrant petitions for skilled workers, executive managers, high net worth investors, and people of extraordinary ability in the arts, sciences, and business.                             Matt Gordon is a the Managing Director of E3 Investment Group. He is a finance professional whose vision and passion is to help realize extraordinary value through the flawless planning and execution of strategy, financings and transactions that foster aggressive sustainable growth. Mr. Gordon is a licensed attorney, having practiced law with some of the most prestigious Wall Street firms, including Fried Frank and Sullivan & Cromwell. He is a member of the New York State Bar and holds SEC securities licenses.

                            George Horvot is the Vice President and C.O.O. of Pathways EB-5, Inc., which owns and operates a family of Regional Centers in 29 states with geography covering most of the major metropolitan areas throughout the United States. As Pathways Chief Operating Officer, George oversees all revenue generation efforts and operations, as well as client services, marketing and strategic partnerships. Since joining Pathways he has played a significant role in growing the company into one of the largest and most respected Regional Center service providers in the U.S. Before joining Pathways, George held leadership roles across business development and operational management at several major public and private companies in the hospitality industry.

                            Tina Lee is a Senior Associate Attorney practicing primarily business immigration law with an emphasis on immigrant investor (EB-5) matters. Ms. Lee has advised hundreds of U.S. project principals and regional centers on various aspects of EB-5 law. She has extensive experience in preparing regional center designation and amendment applications and has submitted hundreds of successful individual investor petitions (both initial and removal of conditions) under the regional center and standard EB-5 programs. Ms. Lee has co-authored numerous articles on the topic of EB-5 for the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is a frequent speaker at EB-5 seminars and conferences. Ms. Lee earned her J.D. in 2003 from the UCLA School of Law, where she served as Chief Comments Editor and Articles Editor for the Asian Pacific American Law Journal and Comments Editor for the Pacific Basin Law Journal. She also holds a B.A. in English summa cum laude from UCLA. Ms. Lee is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the State Bar of California. She is conversant in Korean.

                            Brandon Meyer is the Principal Attorney of Meyer Law Group, a full service immigration firm located in Solana Beach and San Francisco, California and Stamford, Connecticut. He received his Juris Doctorate (law) degree from University of San Diego School of Law, his Masters of Arts in East Asian Studies from George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from American University. He is a member in good standing of the Bars of the State of Connecticut and the District of Columbia. Mr. Meyer is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Association to Invest in the USA (IIUSA).                             Osvaldo F. Torres Esq. is a 1987 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Penn Law Forum. Mr. Torres has over 25 years of corporate, securities and media law experience. Mr. Torres’ extensive experience qualifies him to handle a wide variety of challenging matters, including those where the interests of the client extend into or originate from Latin America and other territories. Some of the types of transactions on which Mr. Torres served as lead counsel include: registration of debt and equity securities; tender offers; purchase and sale of television stations and cable networks; the $773 million merger pursuant to which Telemundo was acquired by affiliates of Sony, Liberty Media and others; and hundreds of licensing and distribution agreements involving Latin American and U.S. based companies. Mr. Torres’ professional experience has also included service as Senior Vice President, and General Counsel for both HBO Latin America and Telemundo Group, Inc. His law firm experience includes being a member of the corporate and securities departments of Greenberg Traurig in Miami and Schulte Roth and Zabel in New York City. In addition to his practice, Mr. Torres has the honor of serving his community as the Secretary of the Weston Bar Association and a member of the American Bar Association Corporate Governance Committee.

                            Gregory White is a Partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group. Mr. White’s practice focuses on the representation of corporations, private equity funds, venture capital firms, and corporations in financing, technology and M&A transactions.A substantial portion of Greg’s practice includes high-tech and emerging growth companies in a number of industries, including software, telecommunications, data storage, mobile technology, medical technology and e-commerce.
